Bristol 60th Anniversary Tentatively Planned for 1930

A 1930 Bristol anniversary article recalls the 1880 kickoff of Bristol’s 200th and outlines a planned observance for the 250th founding. The 1880 reunion drew about twelve thousand people with leaders like Judge LeBaron Colt and ex-Governor Augustus O Brien. Jose Lewis Dieman gave a commemorative message urging future generations to remember their founders.

Water project explained to taxpayers by town council

March 15 1928 Teo the Foster discusses a Metacom Avenue water installation. The plan would cost about 150000 with yearly net revenue 7500 from water takers. Town seeks to lower insurance rates to offset costs by moving from class D to a lower class. Obstacles remain and a final decision hoped by Monday night.

Rand Kardex land record system shown to public

The Rand Kardex land record in dex was inspected by many over two days at the Town Clerk's office. William Waugh, a representative of the installing firm, explained how the new system makes tracing land titles easier and reduces the research previously needed due to scattered records.

Spaghetti Suppers Draw Big Crowd at Mt Carmel Hall

More than 200 spaghetti suppers were served in Grand Army Hall from 5 to 8 o'clock last evening by women of Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church. The affair was one of the largest and most successful of its kind in town with proceeds to the church fund.

The Junior Order Princes of Syracuse met in Grand Army Hall to reorganize the degree team under Fred R Mott. Drills begin next Wednesday with exhibitions planned before several Pythian Lodges. Obituary of Mrs Charles A Sanford of Milford Mass

Ward reports the death of Mrs Mary Conners Sanford of Milford Massachusetts who died Monday morning. Born in Ahoes New York she lived in Milford many years before moving to Malford. She was about 60 and survived by husband three sons and three daughters with many relatives in town. The funeral took place yesterday morning in Malford.

Mrs Mary Vredin, a housekeeper at Mass John XII Herreshoff’s home 142 Hope Street, died Tuesday afternoon after a short illness. Born in Canada 49 years ago she leaves a daughter Miss Edith Fredin. Funeral services will be held at the home of her parents in London Ontario after a prayer service led by Rev James Goodacre at the Miss Herreshoff residence.
