Bristol High School begins 1973 practice with 19 candidates the largest turnout in six years. Five girls compete for the number five singles spot led by Ruth Young and Patricia Bruno while boys fill the other four singles berths. The Colts, in Class B Eastern Division, aim for a better record after last season’s four wins.

Doug Chase added 35 for the Hawks and Mike Bennett dominated the boards. DaPonte's stunned Matador Bulls 75 67 to split their lead with Walt Norton 28 and Tony Sousa 16.

Hawks finish 19-7 season under Williams at Roger Williams
Roger Williams College completed the 1972-73 season with a 19-7 record and a Mayflower Conference title tie with New Hampshire College. Tri-Captain Dwight Datcher led scoring with 500 points and became the Hawks first 1000 point career scorer, while Larry Williams set season rebounding mark with 511.
