County Officials Propose Four Point Bus Program

Bristol Warren and Barrington officials forming the Bristol County Public Service Commission drew up a four point plan to spur competition with the New England Transportation Company. The program calls vacating NET franchise, expanding Short Line stops, inviting other carriers, and urging resumed New Haven Railroad passenger service. Attending were Senator Coggeshall Representative Alfred Huestis and council members Herzig and others.

The Bristol County Office of Veterans Administration in Warren will open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and extend Monday and Thursday hours to 9 p.m. The office is located in room 202 on the second floor of the Post Office.

Association Members to Visit Brown University Libraries

Rhode Island Social Studies Association will tour Brown University on Saturday morning visiting the John Carter Brown Library Annmary Brown Memorial and John Hay Library. Dr Lawrence Wroth will speak on Americana exhibit while Dr Margaret Stillwell shows Annmary Brown memorabilia. Lincoln Napoleon and stamp collections will be viewed at John Hay Library. C A Girls Club Plans Whist Social and Events

The Collins and Aikman Girls Club met on Thames Street with president Margaret Morris presiding. They scheduled a whist for March 21 and planned a chicken salad supper and roller skating party later this month. Jean Kerr won this month’s raffle. refreshments were by Miss Jane Januskiewicz and Miss Kerr. The group bowls weekly and sang Western songs with Emily Del Toro on guitar at closing.
