Bristol native Judge Edward L. Leahy is named chief of the corporations division of the Rhode Island Department of Taxation and Regulation by Governor Green. A veteran tax official and Bristol resident since 1908, Leahy has served on the Tax Commission, Probate Court, and state boards, with deep ties to Democratic politics and local civic groups. He is married to Fern Dixon with three children.

Walter Hi Wilson, 21, of Providence, arrested on a non–support charge, appeared before Judge Lindemuth who ordered six months of continuance while stating his inability to pay more than 2 or 3 dollars weekly. He earns about 14 dollars weekly in a Providence garage, with living costs listed at 11 50 weekly. The Mount Hope Bridge Corp v Angenvine suit for 500 dollars tax refunds was also continued two weeks, with representation by Sisson & Fletcher.

Providence tenor George Milan Tinker, a Brown University graduate and prize winner, will be guest artist for the Bristol Train of Artillery Band concert on March 28 under Mrs Theresa Donovan. Tinker recently studied in Europe with Georges Mertens and has rapid career rise since four years ago. He won the McCormack Tenor Prize and the Dema Harshbarger Prize at the National Federation of Music Clubs in San Francisco.
