Wm Sutton To Address Bristol Chamber Dinner

William Sutton, principal planner of the RI Development Council, will speak at the Bristol Chamber of Commerce dinner on March 11 at White Rail Restaurant. He will outline the Planning Division program and technical assistance for RI communities. About 50 are expected to attend as the committee considers a proposed new zone map and ordinances, including minimum lot sizes and industrial zoning.

Bristol Jaycees to Present Junior Citizenship Award

Zoning Revision Hearing Set On New Town Map

The Zoning Board of Review will meet Thursday at 7 30 p m to hear proposed corrections to the town's zoning map and accompanying ordinance. The plan, a five year Mangiante project costing 5000, would reduce zones from eight to seven and tighten uses. The top Residential A district becomes AA with 20000 square feet minimum, front yard 25 percent depth, rear yard 30 percent, and 125 foot average lot width with 15 foot side yards. Other zones include AA, A, B, C, plus Business B, Commercial C, and Industrial I. Further changes may be made before taxpayer action, especially on nonconforming uses.

Dixon Official Backs Growth Focus in Zoning Plan

Dixon Corporation president Robert R. Muller urged including provisions for industrial growth in the town zoning map to be presented to taxpayers in April. He noted no new land is zoned for industry, criticized relying on swampy property, and warned that waiting for industry sites would force spot zoning and costly site preparation.

Drug Stores Cooperate In Polio Project

Bristol residents may register for polio vaccinations at six drug stores starting Monday. The Jaycee sponsored Project Polio clinic will be held April 4 at Andrews gym, with registration to gauge turnout.
