The Big Freeze and Winter Rivalries on the Harbor
A harbor ice scene recalls a Boston era winter with sled coal runs, an ice boat, and crowded skating. Local boys share rescues, clashes, and queuing up for warm coats as rival surges turn to street legends about Jennie, Lou, Billy, and Fred in a town remembered for bold skating feats and a long thaw.
