Improvement Association Holds Annual Meeting and Elections
The Bristol Improvement Association met at the Hotel Belvedere for its sixth annual gathering. Officers were elected including President Charles B. Rockwell Jr and Vice President William M. Connery. A sewer committee was formed with Rear Admiral Edwards as a member to seek revisions to the Town Sewer Act. The treasurer reported $39.72 on hand. A potential government dock site at Pappoosesquaw was discussed and a telegram sent to engineers Hamilton & Chambers in New York for dock construction input.

St Marys Church Minstrel Show At Pastime Theatre
A combined minstrel show and children's entertainment directed by Prof Donovan and Miss Nellie Pierce will be at the Pastime Theatre Friday evening March 15. Tickets for the St Patricks festival available at the rectory. Forty Hours Devotion begins Friday morning with 8 oclock high mass and procession, closing Sunday morning with a high mass. Masses Friday and Saturday at 5 30. Lenten devotions Friday evening at 7 30 with sermon rosary and benediction. Monthly collection for March to be taken next Sunday.

Rogers Free Library Marks 40 Years Since Opening
The Rogers Free Library opened 40 years ago in memory of Robert Rogers with George U. Arnold as first librarian who has served continuously. It began with 3743 volumes and added 797 in the first year. by November 30, 1917 the collection reached 20870 volumes. Initial circulation reached 275 on opening day and rose to 826395 over 40 years.

Copper wire theft case opens in Fifth District Court
Francis Mayotte was arrested by Chief Dwyer and brought before Judge Hammill on larceny charges for allegedly stealing 150 pounds of copper wire from the National India Rubber Company. He pled not guilty. bail set at $100. The docket also notes civil actions with jury trial sought and several cases continued one week.
