United Brothers Lodge No 13 IOOF met in Odd Fellows Hall with the third degree conferred. A supper followed marking a 40 year gap since Feb 29 gatherings and 28 years until the next possible Tuesday Feb 29. Bro George Miller received a commendation for service, while gas engineer Miller plans to join the European war effort after resigning March 1 and leaving for Ottawa to join the English aviation corps en route to Paris.

Mount Hope Park Bond Resolution Introduced in Senate
Senator Ezra Dixon introduced a resolution to submit to voters a $150000 bond issue to purchase Mount Hope Park. The measure was sent to the judiciary committee with option at $150000 and no cost until voters authorize purchase. If approved, the purchase proceeds next November.
