The Budget Committee warns that the Bristol town budget for the coming year could raise taxes to cover $512,062.96 with $366,986.50 from taxation and $73,292.04 from multiple funds. It recommends caution to avoid a real estate re-evaluation and notes resolutions totaling $46,765.40.
Colt Memorials basketball team closes season with a 70 33 home win over East Greenwich and enters the Rhode Island Interscholastic tournament in Providence. The plan uses one truck and two men, aims to improve service without extra cost, and would bury rubbish at the dump alongside general waste. Mr and Mrs Salvatore Malafronte announce the birth of a daughter Ann Marie at Truesdale Hospital on March 1. Mrs Malafronte is formerly Jenny D Malafronte. Miss Gladys Brightman instructor says two women and girls classes will be held Thursday at the Y M C A due to basketball playoffs. Mr and Mrs Frank Sousa announce the birth of their second son Ronald Paul at Truesdale Hospital on February 18.
