Conservation Council Proposes Land Access and Water Protections
The council urges study of easements to open private land for public hunting and fishing and supports legislation to curb open water dumping. It seeks rules for gravel pit restoration, drainage of wetlands, and building fish ways on private dams, plus stronger Harbors and Rivers staff and guidance from the Dept. of Natural Resources. These local commissions can achieve many conservation goals.
