Excavation for a 91 foot flag pole on the common north of the bandstand. Pole to be raised July 4 with a 20 by 30 foot flag, anchored by cedar posts and guyed to nearby trees. Honor of hoisting assigned to Mrs Edward S Brownell and Mrs Willard S Kenney. Four local young ladies to unfurl the flag as it rises.
