War end uncertainty amid Allied victories and German weaknesses

The Washington Sunday Star argues Germany faces imminent collapse within months due to weakened air and army power, strained manpower and logistics, and Allied air superiority. With Russia advancing from the east and Allied forces from the south and west, Germany is seen as an empty shell likely to surrender, paving the way for action against Japan.

Air power could end Japan war sooner than long battles

The analysis argues a large Pacific naval air force can strike Japan directly and force its navy into action or defeat. It describes Japan as island-based and import-reliant, suggesting decisive air and naval campaigns shorten the conflict, with 1946 possibly the first peace year after six years of global war. It also notes plans to release mobilized troops.
