Bache Private School Closes After Festive Exercises
Closing exercises for Bache Private School were held last Friday afternoon at 230 o'clock. Students performed a flag drill and sang songs. The entire school participated in a Mother Goose dialogue titled Leonard's Dream, followed by cake and candy. The room featured crimson and white decorations.

Southern New England Marble Champion Heads to Ocean City
Edmund Sunny Larue a 13 year old Bristol student and Boy Scout will contest the national marble title in Ocean City New Jersey after winning the Southern New England championship in Providence Rhode Island. He defeated nearly 100 local rivals and two district champions including William Kinnes of Newport in the Rhodesia rounds to claim the title. He travels with assistant Scoutmaster Lawrence S Ashton and returns to Bristol after the event to share the national bid with his family at 426 High street.

Bristol Youth Flees Police While Being Transferred
Foot Abate a 22 year old of 14 Mt Hope Avenue escaped from an automobile in Providence Friday afternoon. He was shackled in the rear with three other prisoners and fled at about 30 miles an hour near the Pettaconsett pumping station while Sheriff Prescott A Wilbur rode in the front. Abate was arrested under the name Frank Annett on a warrant for breaking and entering and as an accessory in the Lyric Theatre break. He faces four additional charges.

Former State Amateur Boxer Fatally Injured in Warren Crash
George Caisse of 411 Metacom Avenue Warren died before noon Saturday when a water pipe twelve feet eight inches long rolled from a Callan Construction Co truck on Rumstick Road. The truck driven by Frank Raiola carried Henry Watts and Richard Pacheco of Warren. Joseph Peters suffered a sprained ankle. Raiola posted $2000 bail for trial July 2. Funeral services were held at St. John's Church Warren.

Gustave Pozzi, native of this town and son of the late John Pozzi, graduated last Thursday from Temple University Medical School in Philadelphia with the degree of Doctor of Medicine. Union Church Prudence Island Season Opens With Bristol Speakers
The Union Church at Prudence Island starts its summer season on Sunday June 28 with a single Sunday service and a Brockton Day program.
