Bristol Appeals For Patriot Fund Support Lags
The Bristol drive to raise 250 dollars toward a nationwide 500000 memorial fund for sailors and marines struggles with apathy. Senator William H Thayer leads the effort, hoping small gifts will suffice, but only about 42 dollars have been pledged. The plan includes a donation drive through the school system, which was blocked for this project, and the effort shifts to a one week window to collect funds.
