Rhode Island Educator Sees Service as Path to Happiness
Dr. Lucius A. Whipple president of the Rhode Island College of Education addressed Bristol High School graduates at Andrews Memorial School auditorium. He urged a personal philosophy built on service, tolerance, and spiritual values, declaring America as leader and the graduates as its citizens. Diplomas went to 96 graduates, with multiple awards for merit and character including the Walsh Memorial Medal to Alexander Stephen Fales and the Rennselaer Polytechnic Medal to Attilio Topazio.

Soldiers Parade in Bristol July 4th From Narragansett Bay Area
Soldiers from Fort Adams and nearby camps will take part in Bristol's Fourth of July parade. The lineup includes infantry, a band, bugle and drum corps, and chartered commands led by the Bristol Train of Artillery Band. Ten divisions are planned, with a special Portuguese American section. Budgeted costs exceed fourteen hundred dollars, and fundraising shortfalls may trim activities.

A public meeting sponsored by the Citizens Advisory Committee and the Recreation Board will be held Tuesday at 8 PM in the Y M C A. Miss Emma Howe of Providence will be the principal speaker. Raymond McElroy Named Deputy Grand Worthy President
