Town Council Grants July Fourth Plans With Objections Raised
The Town Council approved a block dance on High street for July 3 and a fireworks display on the Callan lot near Bay View avenue pending owner approval. A protest from John G Stewart against a Bristol Chamber of Commerce merchants opposition was noted, while the council to coordinate parking regulations formed a committee. Other actions included denying control over Hope street, issuing fireworks permits June 28 to July 6, approving flag installations for Hope street, authorizing entertainment at Pastime Theatre, license transfers, and granting several victualling and peddler licenses.
