YMCA Campaign Raises 5077 Dollars In Seven Days
The Young Men's Christian Association completed a seven day financial drive with total subscriptions reaching 5077 dollars and expectations of additional gifts. Campaign led by Dr. Alfred M. Merriman and Earl H. Hobson with two main divisions. Team 1 led by Mrs. Merriman posted the largest haul. Special Gifts Committee raised 3122 dollars. Ladies Supper Committee supported the effort with a coordinating role.

Parishioners offered foods for auction, with proceeds raised by auctioneers John Almeida Manuel Sardina and Manuel Pacheco as the City Band and Bristol Boys' Community Band provided music. Tony Paes Jr carried the crown of the Holy Ghost in a rain defying procession to the club rooms, where similar rites were performed.

A sedan driven by J A Dubuc collided with a car driven by James E Ainsworth on Market Street South Swansea at 12 15 this morning. Ainsworth’s car overturned trapping him beneath it and he died en route to Dr J J Conway’s office in Warren.
