Town Council Adopts Driver Rules for Fire Apparatus
The Bristol town council adopted amendments to fire department motorized apparatus rules requiring only qualified drivers. Emergency provisions allow the chief engineer or assistants to designate a driver, with foremen named if necessary. Rodney D Simmons resigned as day officer and special constable. Dennis Ferrara was elected to replace him. The council approved July Fourth fireworks, parade participation, and various highway and building requests, plus new licenses and sign and public works actions.
