Babson predicts bleak job outlook for 1950 graduates
Financial expert Roger W. Babson warns one and three quarter million graduates will face high unemployment. He cites six causes from postwar shortages to rapid graduation rates and imports. He notes strong prospects in merchandising, marketing, business research, architecture, insurance, banking, medicine, nursing, pharmacy, social work and teaching. He urges proactive interviewing and company research. He adds there will always be good opportunities for capable, energetic workers and favors hiring red heads who value work over pay.
