Ever Readys Plan Memorial Sunday Observance

Ever Ready Engine & Hose Company finalized plans for Firemen's Memorial Sunday honoring Peter J Lannen and Peter Riley. Joseph Paul and Arthur Demers to decorate graves and a Thames Street march to St Mary's Cemetery at 11 30 a m with services. They voted to enter a team in the July 4 water battle. Donat J Gladue chairs the committee. Defiance Company also to participate in water battle and parade.

Netopian Society elects new officers at annual meeting

Officers for the ensuing year were elected at the Netopian Society of the First Congregational Church annual gathering held Wednesday evening in the Guneras House. New officers include President Archibald Dunbar Vice President Albert O. Earle Secretary Mrs Archibald Dunbar Treasurer Samuel Steen and cabinet members Mrs M F E D Newman and Norman F. Benard.

Injuries Fail To Stop Boynton From Graduating

John Boynton of Upper Long Field returns to study after a May 6 automobile wreck that killed a fellow student and left him badly injured. He earns a Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Carolina, a Colt Memorial high school graduate in 1928.

Six More Beer Licenses Granted By Town Council

The Town Council granted six additional beer licenses Tuesday, including four Class C saloon permits bringing the quota of 11 Class C licenses to full. New licensees are Joseph Bruno, Joseph Josephs, Rafael Martins, and Manuel Vargas for saloons and Anna Martinez and Luigi Malafronte for victualling licenses. Other agenda items covered zoning issues, a temporary permit renewal denial for Domenic De Cristofaro, and town measures for July Fourth funding and municipal operations.

Cement floor foundation finished for the bandstand. Workers now paint the canopy woodwork in light green and will coat the cement with light gray. Iron railing around the stand to be painted black under General Supervisor James B Lee.

An oil painting of Luis de Campes, famed 15th century poet laureate, presented to the Santo Christo Club by Antonio Quintella, was found mutilated last week at the club on Franklin street. The frame remained intact while the portrait was cut with a razor.

The Bristol Cleansers routed the Neck Rangers 12 to 0 in the opening game of the local Junior Baseball League. The game ended in the seventh inning due to the lopsided score as sponsors and officials took part in ceremonies. C. Getchell and Manuel Perry represented sponsors, with Arthur J.
