Government Band Can't Come For Fourth Of July
The Seventh Artillery Band by Kurt Adams, long heard here on the Fourth, cannot perform due to government objections. A special Fourth of July committee meeting chose the Second Regiment Band of the Rhode Island National Guard to appear in the parade and give concerts on the Common, one in the afternoon and one in the evening. The Herreshoff Marine Band will also take part in the parade in the morning and in the Antiques and Horribles in the afternoon.
