123 Seniors Receive Diplomas at Bristol High School

A class of 123 graduates, 65 girls and 58 boys, received diplomas at Bristol Senior High. Frank Caizzi earned the Rensselaer Medal and delivered the valedictory. Peter Sansone gave the salutatory. Rev Henrique Rocha offered prayers, and the ceremony featured remarks by Miss Margaret Connors and Principal John Burke.

Class Day Exercises at Bristol Senior High School

Bristol Senior High School held Class Day exercises led by Principal John L. Burke. Students named to the R Y Honor Society received recognition along with prizes and awards. Frank Caizzi, valedictorian, received the Evelyn Baché prize for scholastic achievement. merit certificates were awarded to Eileen Borges, Beverly DiPalma, Louis Romano, Peter Sansone, Carolyn Sicignano, Anthony Velleca, and Mary Jane Vorro.

Fire kills two Hooton boys on Siegel Street

A tenement blaze on Siegel Street claims the lives of five year old Wayne and three year old Jeffrey Hooton in their second floor bedroom. One year old Gary rescued by grandmother and sister Lucille injured. neighbor firefighters and residents attempt rescues amid heavy smoke. Thefts Continue Unabated In Three Areas

A series of thefts struck Mt Hope Farms and Pa ket areas this week. A sump pump valued at 125 dollars was stolen from a pumphouse after smashing an electric meter and damaging a salt water pump cover. In Hopeworth, two hub caps disappeared from a late model car owned by George L Miller Jr. in Narrows Road. Cecil Hannah of Weeden Street reported a 16 foot que hanging tongs stolen from his skiff moored at the rail yard.

Fourth of July Ball plans nearing completion

Philip Smith, chairman of the 2nd Annual 4th of July Ball, said final plans are nearly complete and the event will likely surpass last year's. The ball, featuring a grand march, will be held Saturday June 27 at the National Guard Armory. Continued on Page 12.
