Internationally famed yacht designer Nathanael G. Herreshoff, longtime Bristol resident, died yesterday at his home 6 Valley Street in his 91st year after extended illness. The funeral will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at St Michael's Episcopal Church with Canon Parshley officiating. burial in Juniper Hill Cemetery. He and his brother John B. Herreshoff were central to Bristol's maritime fame. their father Charles Francis Herreshoff was also a noted designer and builder. Born March 8, 1848, he studied at MIT before working with the Corliss Steam Engine Co and contributing to the Philadelphia Centennial Exposition engine design.

John Travers Medeiros aged 59, a SAR worker, died of natural causes after a heart attack on the sidewalk at High and Bradford streets. He was born April 6 1878 in the Azores and had lived in Bristol over 20 years. He leaves a wife Rose and three children John Joseph and Delia, plus a brother Anthony and sister Anna.
