Quietest Week Of Year At Sewer Plant
George R. Fish reports the sewer disposal plant is in its slowest week of the year with no rain and two factories closed. Daily pumping is under a million gallons, far below the usual six to seven million. the record low this year was 60,000 gallons on Sunday July 3 when town plants were closed. The peak pumping was 10,120,000 gallons in 24 hours on December 15, 1953, due to snow thaw rain and high tide.
