Bristol urged elm beetle fight must be done
A Bristol observer argues for a large next spring appropriation to combat elm beetles, warning against small funds. He says town finances are strained but extermination is essential and systematic, with homeowners urged to spray trunks and citizens to support funding or seek private subscriptions if needed. The piece invokes Joe Chandler Harris and remarks on happiness versus wealth, ending with a stray aside about Miss Belle from Alabama.
