The Gorham Family and Bristol Ancestry Highlight
To the Editor of the Phoenix a genealogical note traces Amos S Gorham’s Bristol home to Capt Lemuel Richmond’s corner house at High and Valley streets. It recalls Capt John Gorham as Bristol’s first white settler in 1669 and links the Gorham lineage to De Gorham of La Tancheire with ties to the Mayflower descendant Desire Howland and multiple children listed in colonial records.
