Children’s Home Seeks Support for 25 Children
Rev Dr Locke spoke at St Michael’s Church on July 18 detailing the Bristol Children’s Home finances. Despite a $15,000 bequest raising investments to $27,000 the charity cannot cover rising costs for 21 children with four more incoming. Officials report annual expenses around $1,900, about $20 weekly per child, urging continued local aid and improvements such as dormitory space, beds, and a new floor in the basement laundry. The Home, under its matron and staff, provides clean, well fed care and aims to expand its capacity and comfort for the youngsters. Residents and supporters are invited to visit to witness the work and needs.
