Fourth of July Committee Debates Fireworks Bills
The Fourth of July Committee discussed many bills at Friday’s meeting and approved payment for most, but a $600 Bristol Fireworks Company bill was not paid in full amid doubts about a 14 minute display. The Warren committee accepted a $200 program from the same maker after noting 18 set pieces. The Bristol panel had previously lost a motion to pay the full bill as members argued value and duration. The group planned to reconvene in two weeks and thanked Miss Elizabeth Graham for selling sesquicentennial medallions for local celebration proceeds.
