Italian Celebration Ushers In Feast Of Our Lady Mt Carmel
The Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel began with six bombs at dawn with a 6 am mass at the church. A 8:30 am high mass followed, and an 7:30 pm parade and concert by the Famighetti Band will occupy the common area through the evening with orchestral selections and solos by local musicians. Tomorrow features another high mass and a street parade led by John B Troiano with two divisions of bands and community groups. A 3:30 to 5:30 pm concert and 6 pm program of sports and a benediction close the day, with planned band concerts and decorations along the church front.
