Boys Club Takes Weekend Trip and Factory Visits
The United Boys' Club with 21 members led by Rev Herbert I Graet Carl Carlson and Oliver Blaisdell sailed from Providence to Block Island aboard the Cambridge. They tour the H P Hood ice cream plant and the Coca Cola plant in Providence, aided by FE W Weaver. Next week Alex Anderton and supervisors Jack Hambrick and Walter Brelsford with Mr Blaisdell plan a World’s Fair trip to New York returning Thursday.

The Colonial Hotel debuts tonight after a remodeling costing about 15000 dollars. Savatore Nunes, Bristol contractor, announced the completion while George Salmonese will manage the hotel. Architect William O Rourke designed the building and Carl Davis and his orchestra from Providence provide the opening music.

Many Bequests in the Wardwell Will Across Bristol Community
Isabella M Wardwell of Bristol died July 11 1940 and her will filed in probate lays out about 175000 in gifts to relatives friends churches and institutions. The First Congregational Church of Bristol gains the Hope Street homestead with a 30000 trust for maintenance while Saint Michaels Church Bristol receives 35000 in real estate and funds. A 82000 trust funds multiple charities including schools the Bristol Home for Aged Women the YMC A the Bristol Public Library and several missionary societies. Individual bequests include five thousand to four children of Helen W Glover and dozens of other named residents and organizations with significant sums to Wardwell daughters Ruth and Marguerite and to many Bristol and Providence figures. The distribution follows a shared inheritance with Harriet Wardwell and directs income to multiple civic and religious groups.

B. T. A. Accepts Invite For Connecticut Parade
The Bristol Train of Artillery accepts an invitation from the Connecticut Department American Legion to head the second division in the Norwich parade on Saturday July 27. Col Edwin S Godfrey commands the Bristol unit and hosts a two day outing at his Norwich estate. The Battalion Band will lead the division and Company C will provide color guards. Members meet at 8 am at the armory and depart at 9 am for Norwich arriving around noon.
