District Court Actions Include Plea and Several Continuances
In District Court before Judge Bosworth, Morrissey versus Travers was postponed one week after a misunderstanding between attorneys. Milton M. Cole, arrested July 11 by Warren Chief Edward Macomber, pled guilty to non support and will be supervised by a probation officer. Several other cases Romano versus Montecarmo Hammill versus Nuddleman continued, Wardwell versus Francis defaulted, and Gilroy versus Sky and Chivero continued. McKevitt versus Oirello verdicts favored the defendant in trespass, ejectment, and book account. Hoff man represented the plaintiff and Hammill the defendant.

An Italian worker blasting a well in Stata street yard sent rock fragments toward First to Third School streets. A 12 pound rock struck a pig feeding on First street killing it, and another rock hit a Portuguese woman in the back but caused no serious injury. The Italian paid $16 for the 250 pound porker and took it home.

Our Boys at Opera House Draws Local Praise
A good sized audience saw the second performance of the three act comedy Our Boys last night at the Opera House. The same local cast as January rendered it with credit and general satisfaction. Mrs Uasabot directed and drew applause for her servant role. The cast included Sir Geoffry Champneys and sons, Violet Melrose, Mary Melrose, and others with Mr and Mrs Merriman responsible for stage settings. Between acts two and three Maus Wheelwright danced buck and wing to the crowd’s delight, while Herreshoff Marine Band Orchestra provided music between acts.
