The Bristol Rangers and Bristol Boy Scouts dominated the annual Arnold Zwier Post American Legion competition in James town, capturing seven first prizes between them.
The fifth annual Outing and Bazaar for St Columban's Foreign Mission Society will be held on Sunday July 30 on Seminary grounds Ferry Hill Bristol. Rev Paul Connelly directs with a Bristol committee. Frank Miserandino chairs assisted by many named volunteers handling games candy booths crafts bags and raffles.
The Bristol common hosts a Boccia Club versus Bristol Independents softball game rescheduled from Tuesday to Wednesday. Also Tuesday night at 6 p m the Kearney Post Baseball team meets Burrillville.
Bristol School Committee awarded the Guiteras Field concession contract to the Bristol Boy Scouts with a $150 minimum guarantee and $12 per event, over rival bid from Anthony Pereira. Temporary teachers were reappointed for 1950-51 and several new appointments authorized pending Rhode Island College of Education courses.
Herman Grabert claimed the Senior Croquet title as 30 boys in five groups competed Friday afternoon. Sal Mancieri joined the finals after group play. quarterfinal winners included Ferrera, Mancieri, Caizzi, Balzano, and Graver. Intermediate and junior matches crowned Botelho and Marshall respectively among varied participants.
The Town Council, advised by Town Solicitor Eugene Cochran, voted to tell the Planning Board deeds to land are not their responsibility and to have deeds recorded by the Town Clerk. The action stems from a request tied to a War ranty deed for San Francisco street lands and a move to curb Planning Board authority over property transfers. The council also delayed a beverage license transfer and discussed sewer department funding while announcing a new city girls program with multiage groups and organized leagues.

Bruno 229 AB 9 H .409 and Biancuzzo 198 AB 8 H .421 top RBIs with 11. Camera and Biancuzzo lead hits with 9. Massano 29 strikeouts tops pitchers. Cabral and Van Voast tied at 20 innings with 1.000 ERA.
