Observers Prepare for Skytrain Drill In Town
Ground Observer Corps members will man a Burnside Street factory post from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. to spot low flying aircraft as part of Operation Skytrain. Civil defense chief Nelson G. Beals says the post should be staffed 24 hours daily but manpower shortages limit coverage. He notes 96 letters were sent in May with only two volunteers responding.

Battery C to encamp at Cape Cod for two weeks
The 105 men and five officers of Battery C leave tomorrow at 7 30 for a two week encampment at Cape Cod Army installations. They spend 12 days at Camp Wellfleet anti air range and two days at Camp Edwards small arms range.
