At a town council meeting the Board of Recreation discussed condemning land for a town beach. Trustees of the Colt Estate indicated no objection but urged protection of their client. Estimated cost was about 15000 dollars plus half the Colt Estate valuation of 175000 dollars. An independent appraiser was urged to compare figures with one hired by trustees.
The Zoning Board of Review granted Jeremiah C Reynolds a two year special exception to operate a grain business at 80 Charles street on land owned by Pasquale Pagnano. Restrictions include grain stored six inches off the floor inside containers from the wholesaler and no business sign without board permission. The exception is non transferable and revocable for cause.
The Religious Education Committee from St. Michael's and the First Congregationalist Churches will meet at Holmes House next Monday at 8. The Summer School runs July 14 to 28 and enrollment covers children aged 5 to 12 or those entering first grade through seventh grade in the fall.
