July 3 features a Providence WPA Band concert and a midnight fireworks display on the Common. Open Air Service Sunday At St Michael's Church
An open air Independence Day service will be held Sunday at 5 30 pm at St Michael's Church in the Locke Close between the Church and Holmes House on Hope Street. Rev Reuben W Shrum US Navy chaplain and former Mayflower aboard Coolidge era to preside assisted by Canon Parshley and others including Rev Arthur W Burdon and Rev Leonard B Rasmusson. The national anthem will be sung by Vernon A Gray.
