Hall to retire as assistant commandant March 31

Brig. Gen. Samuel A Hall will retire from the Rhode Island Soldiers Home on March 31. A Spanish American War and World War I veteran, he served as commandant from 1932 to 1935 and has been assistant commandant since 1939 under the Vanderbilt administration after being ousted by Democrats in a patronage drive.

Mothers Club Plans Valentine Party at St Marys Church

Final plans were made last Friday at the home of Mrs Joseph Malloy for the Mothers Club of St Marys Church to sponsor a Valentine and get acquainted party on Tuesday February 10 in the church auditorium.
