Last minute preparations complete for the Infantile Paralysis ball to be held Friday at Warren Town Hall. Music by Carl Tatz and his orchestra. Minuet rehearsals proceed despite 10 degree chill under the direction of John S. Ogg as Bristol County anti polio drive.
The Bristol Industrial Basketball League schedule reaches midway in the second half with the Ascol Esso five facing league leaders Bristol Vikings at 8 p.m. in the opener and the C A quintet meeting Newth Rubber Company of Barrington in the second game.
Bristol Vets Drum and Bugle Corps plans a Leap Year Hop on February 4 at Jacques Cartier Ballroom Warren to raise funds for new instruments. The corps owes over 400 for bugles baritones and drums and may have to return some gear if not paid soon.
Forecasts of the Population of the United States 1945-1947 to be published by the Bureau of the Census. Orders may be placed with the Superintendent of Documents, Washington 25 DC. Delivery will begin when published. Price 45 cents per copy.
The Air Medal and permanent citation are forwarded to Naval Base Newport for presentation or to the next of kin of Lt(jg) John P Shaw USNR. As first pilot and navigator of Patrol Squadron 41 he flew reconnaissance missions Attu to Paramushiro from May to October 1943 in active combat against Japan.

Theresa Donovan leads about 40 chorus voices with end men like Mr Nutcracker Mr Doodad and Mr Hambone. Floradora sextette includes Romarnians Hopkins Cole Fusonie Eastman Newman. Proceeds aid the Club Service Fund and Summer Camp Fund for youth. Tickets from members. reserve seats at Buffington's Pharmacy.
At the Trinity Episcopal Church annual meeting Chester R Burgess was chosen senior warden for his ninth term. Elected officers include Ernest E Alder junior warden Stephen W Hopkins clerk William N Burgess treasurer Charles E Livingstone assistant treasurer. Vestrymen named include Albert E Alder etc. Delegates to the diocesan convention and convocation were chosen with alternates recorded. The Rev Paul Van E Thompson spoke on the American Church Union.
