Bristol Fire Police Association members met on January 10 at Defiance Station to elect officers and plan a banquet. Elected were Capt Mc Cauley, 1st Lt Fred Riccio, 2nd Lt Matthew Vital, Sec Treas Antonio H Goulart, and Sgt James F Meiggs Jr.
William A Bowen of Monkey Wrench Lane was elected president and a director of Plantations Bank at a stockholders and board meeting yesterday. He joined as executive vice president nine months ago after serving since 1947 at RI Hospital Trust Company, most recently as vice president in charge of the Howard Building office. Bowen, 43, a native of Indianapolis, holds an AB from Butler University (1941) and a Harvard Business School degree (1947).
Bowen holds multiple chair and director roles with the Federal Chain Company and several Rhode Island organizations. He served as 1954 Rhode Island Community Chest general campaign chairman, is a WWII Navy veteran with four bronze stars, and is active in clubs, churches, and charity groups with two daughters and a wife Virginia Phillips.
