Arrested for Rum Running Bentley Farr Held on Bail

Arlington County police report Bentley Farr of this town was arrested in Providence on a charge of transporting and possessing intoxicating liquors. He pleaded not guilty and was released on $1 bail for a preliminary hearing next Friday. Abraham Cokin of Pawtucket posted security. The case follows a Barrington auto crash last Friday when a truck allegedly driven by Farr was forced off the road by hijackers, dumping 50 cases of liquor. Some booze was taken by passersby and may have reached Bristol. Barrington Police recovered the truck and stored the remaining contraband at a local garage.
