Entertainment by Father Gillan Makes Night Of St Mary’s
Rev Father Gillan entertained the Sunday School association of the Boys Department at St Mary’s rectory. The organization was made permanent with Gillan elected President and Augustus Y Connery Secretary. Monthly meetings were voted with an entertainment committee of Jefferson F Galvin Edward F Christie and Robert Connery. The evening featured vocal and instrumental music, supper, and beautiful table decorations. A pocket knife was amusingly presented to William Hammill and he accepted with humor. Charles Tobin spoke for the teachers. Hammill’s speech was brief and to the point. Nearly all teachers attended and praised the grand evening.
