War Department tightens overseas package rules
Secretary Henry L. Stimson announced new Army limits on sending care packages to soldiers abroad. A blackout last evening was largely successful despite eight minor violations. Chief Air Raid Warden Bertram Wall said sirens on Wood Hone streets and Peck Avenue were silent at times. two ambulances and five first aiders were on duty. The all clear came at 9 43, with 9 18 warning initial and 9 33 second warning.
