Head of Lockanosset School Praises Reform Efforts

Daniel G. Aldrich superintendent of Sockanosset School for Boys spoke at the Rotary Club praising the need for adult mentors to guide Bristol youths away from crime. He urged Rotary involvement and cited cases of successful private support helping boys reintegrate into the community.

Bristol Band Concert Delights Rotary Club Audience

Fire Companies Name Officers For Ensuing Year In Bristol

The four Bristol fire companies held their annual officer elections on Wednesday evening at their stations. James F. Meigs was reelected foreman of the Hydraulion Engine and Hose Company for a fifth term, with other officers chosen including Henry Campbell and Chester Hemple as assistant foremen and Daniel G. Coggeshall as treasurer. Banquets were planned for upcoming Saturdays and a Rotary Club donation noted. A memorial resolutions praised Philip Brady, a longtime Hydraulion member, at the session.

Naming of Tax Assessor Postponed to Next Council Meeting

The Town Council failed to fill the vacancy for Tax Assessor and Clerk of the Tax Board after the death of Philip Brady. Council postponed the nomination for two weeks, considering Town Auditor John J. Lavander, with debates over proper seconding and voting procedures.
