The family, aided by Congressman Aime J. Forand and Bristol clergy, fears eventual deportation to Canada due to her illegal entry at 14. Her husband Manuel, 28, runs a garage near Ford Street. their children include Manuel Jr 3 12, Frank 21, Richard 14 months, and Valeda three weeks.
