Charles Duquette Retires After 48 Years on New Haven Railroad
Bristol-born Charles A. Duquette retires today on his 64th birthday as an engineer with the New York New Haven and Hartford Railroad after 48 years in railroading. He began as a butcher and fireman in 1890, rose to locomotive engineer in 1912, and served on committees and veterans groups including the Providence Trainmen's Association and Railroad Veterans' Association. A testimonial banquet is planned January 29 at Union Station, Providence.

St Mary's High School Boys Discussion Club will meet at 7:30 pm in the church auditorium to discuss current topics. Rev Michael L Ryan pastor to preside. The Wednesday novena moves to Tuesday at 7:20 pm. First Friday mass schedule at 5:45 and 7:00 am. Sacred Heart devotions set for 7:30 pm. A general communion for men and boys is planned for 7:30 am next Sunday for the Holy Name feast.

Parishioners of St Michael s Church will present the Miracle Play for the 24th year on Friday night in the parish house. Rev Anthony R Parshley directs with Miss Louise DeWolf in costumes and Walter H Angell as organist.
