Providence summer resident Thomas Potter appeared before the Town Council to seek a permit for a gasoline filling station at the Hope and Thames Streets junction. Warren police chief pleads not guilty to bribe charge
Chief James A Cronin of Warren pleaded not guilty before Judge Hahn in Superior Court Providence to receiving a bribe. The marking of the location is deemed the economical safeguard for small craft with appeals allowed to the US Board of Engineers for Rivers and Harbors by Jan 24.
