Beals Saves A A 20 In Blizzard At Scott Field

Cpl Nelson G Beals and crew at Scott Field guided an A 20 through a blizzard to the runway after receiving a PAN PAN alert. Ground stations fixed the plane position and directed the approach as fuel ran low. The plane landed safely but later fuel issues caused by downed antennas delayed communications.
