Funeral service for John Canfield at Prospect Street home

The funeral of John Canfield was held Sunday at 2 pm from his Prospect Street residence. Rev Newton of First Congregational Church officiated. A large turnout of relatives and friends attended, with many floral tributes. Bearers included William Canfield of Providence, Harry Bray of Foxboro, William Danbar and Daniel G. Coggeshall of this town. Interment followed at North Cemetery.

Five Tickets Filed For Town Election In March

Five nomination tickets have been filed at the Town Clerk’s office for the March 9 town election. Wardwell Cheesman and Munro each filed full or partial slates. Wardwell’s list mirrors the Democratic ticket with replacements for Probate Judge and School Committee. The Citizens and Democratic tickets include Rockwell, MacDougall, Connery, Brigham, Simmons for Council and Robertson, Sisson, Gooding, Duffy among School Committee candidates. Seven candidates total, with only the top three by votes elected.

Clerk Lonergan presided in Judge Bosworths absence as Morissey vs Vallero was continued one week on charges including nogault with a dangerous weapon and carrying a concealed weapon. Civil cases Bickford vs Gladding and Chilton Printing Co. vs Huestis Manufacturing Co. were also continued one week.
