School officials report a required $4 845 increase in town funds for the coming year as other revenue declines. The total budget is $161 400 with $136 250 from taxpayers and misc sources covering the rest. state aid and replacements adjust receipts and salaries.
Colt Memorial high school senior Mary Lucille Aiello has been chosen as the D A R Pilgrim from Bristol. She will compete with 18 Rhode Island girls for the honor of representing the state at the Continental Congress of the Daughters of American Revolution in Washington D C in April. Miss Aiello, daughter of James Aiello of 413 High Street, was selected by a vote of the senior class and faculty for dependability leadership service and patriotism.
Councilman A. A. Edmonds will report on a proposed community beach and the council may add 100 dollars to the March financial town meeting to cover general expenses. Budget discussions with the budget committee are set for Friday night.
Thirty five Bristol women active in civic affairs will serve as patronesses for the Washington Ball of the Bristol Train of Artillery next Thursday at the State Armory Church Street. Capt Charles T Heilborn Jr general chairman announces the list and ticket sales remain brisk with some reservations still available.

Relief Administrator Orlando Bisbang seeks $41,695.09 for 1940 Bristol relief, $2,124.22 less than 1939. The budget includes $17,205.61 for SUR and $24,489.48 for WPA projects. State five elevenths share $12,449.52. 13 projects estimated at $29,655.13.
