Senator Gallan Opposes Provisions in New State Relief Bill

Senator Gallan attacked the Emergency Un employment Relief Act of 1933 arguing it imposes on taxpayers while praising Bristol's local board of 12 directors for administering relief well. National Legion Head Stopped Here Tuesday in Bristol

Budget Recommendations Partly Completed by Bristol Council

The Bristol Town Council at a special meeting finalised most of the budget list for the March town meeting totaling 244 695 69 with relief and police spending deferred awaiting 1933 34 estimates. The council awaits State relief bill figures before setting public aid funds and plans to shift 2500 and 4786 52 from the Chestnut Street and Smith Street notes into the Smith Street account to retire interest, using funds from 1925 Misses Barns endowments.
