One Act Sketch Features Soldiers Home Program

Three American Legion Auxiliary units presented the one act sketch The School at Blueberry Corner to veterans at the Soldiers Home. The program included songs dances and comedy with Mrs D Josephine Cole as announcer and Col Samuel A Hall welcoming guests. Cast members and performers from Cranston Scituate and Richard Dennis Posts entertained veterans with a sequence of acts and numbers.

The Bristol District Nursing Association records January totals with 132 patients across General care 40 and Metropolitan care 89 plus 3 John Hancock cases. It logs 536 visits including 153 General care, 118 Metropolitan care, 18 John Hancock, 7 pre natal, 23 tuberculosis, and 217 State Child Welfare visits. Clinics held 5 with 133 babies absent and 10 patients not present. two X rays were done at Wallum Lake. Deliveries attended and 38 social and office visits are also listed.

Bristol Tram of Artillery Heads Washington Birthday Parade

The Bristol Regiment will lead the parade in Providence on Washington's Birthday. Afterward a dinner will be held at the Crown Hotel with music by the B A Band Orchestra, a 12 man ensemble.

Bristol Scouts Rule Town in Three Hour Mock Government

Local Boy Scouts from Bristol Rhode Island took over town offices for a three hour period, proposing an unemployment registration bureau, cheaper bus fares, and a longer school term. They appointed scouts to municipal posts, debated relief policy, urged work for aid recipients, and observed Calin Coolidge Day with a formal resolution.

Miss Helen Howe to Appear in Benefit Monologue Program

Boston artist Miss Helen Howe brings a benefit program of monologues and caricatures to St Michael's parish house for the poor of the parish. She performs Those in Peril a five act miniature drama on an ocean liner and presents several other pieces including Merry Madrigal and Picnic. Annual Washington Ball Draws Distinct Military Guests

The Bristol Train of Artillery sponsors the Washington Ball to be held Tuesday evening February 21 at the Bristol Casino. Attendees include commanding officers from Boston Ancient and Honorables, Old Guards of New York City, Governor's Foot Guards of Connecticut, Second Corps Area Cadets of Salem, 118th Regiment of Engineers, 243rd gone Artillery Corps, and representatives from the 103rd Field Artillery. Lieutenant J J Velleca chairs the committee handling reservations.

American Legion National Commander Louis Johnson will visit Bristol Rhode Island for the Boy Scout Anniversary program. The event gathers Bristol Troops with their Drug and Eagle Corps at the Eagles Hall at 6 o clock. Past Department Commander B W Wall serves on the organizing committee.

Two Britso youths were arrested early today and held by police to determine if they were the robbers who last evening held up the Montecalvo bakery at 425 Wood Street escaping with 8 50 from a cash register. Names not disclosed.

Bristol School Committee seeks 124000 for next year

The Bristol School Committee voted to seek a 124000 appropriation for the coming fiscal year to maintain the local school department. The proposal, 700 less than last year, reflects continued economy including a 15 percent salary cut and savings on instructional supplies, energy, and maintenance.
